David J. Hoch
Co-founder & Chief Scientist

As co-founder and Chief Scientist, Mr. Hoch is responsible for the company's strategic technology advancement and implementation, including advanced engineering in the development of new interactive display, power and control products. As a member of the executive team, he helps to formulate corporate strategy, product vision, company branding and awareness.

Hoch has over 20 years of experience in developing cutting edge technology products in the gaming, sports, communications and display markets. Hoch is a respected entrepreneur and has been directly involved in designing and manufacturing hundreds of electronic products throughout his career. His creations have been featured in U.S. News and World Report, Wired Magazine, Beyond Tomorrow, Popular Electronics and the Boston Globe.

Hoch formed his own technology design firm in 1987, Technology Arts, where he designed products for many different companies including telecommunications equipment, electronic games, testing equipment, consumer electronics and sports monitoring devices. Many of these products are still sold today and Hoch holds a number of patents and trademarks.

From 1996-1997 Mr. Hoch was a part of the leading industrial design firm IDEO as the head of the company’s East Coast electrical engineering and product development efforts. IDEO’s clients include Nike, Apple Computer, Palm Computing and Teradyne.

Prior to IDEO, at Zoom Telephonics and later as lead engineer at Articulate Systems, Hoch developed advanced modem technology and DSP-based voice recognition hardware.

Hoch graduated from MIT with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering in 1983.
